I'm currently pondering the idea of launching a podcast that is a bit of a mix of everything but mainly focuses on atheism and rationalism issues, say having one topic each time that gets discussed in some detail for example creationism, abstinence only education, alternative medicine.

Question is though, does anyone actually listen to podcasts? And if so what type, when, how, where? I haven't really done much consuming of podcasts, I used to and I got into a few shows but I found after a few weeks I would just fade out of them again.

I've never knowingly listened to a podcast, on the basis of "why listen to people yakking, when I can read blogs instead". But a discussion podcast rather than one person just explaining their views on the world would be way more interesting! Not sure what the podcast market is like at the moment though, the only people I know who do one are an unsigned band and they have about eight listeners

Following on from this, I got round to launching my podcast a few weeks ago. It comes out every Friday. Still finding my feet at the moment but I'm quite pleased in the direction we are heading - the debate we did on abortion, which comes out in a few weeks, worked really well, I'm hoping we can repeat the format quite often.
