I am due to give a presentation on the basics of rationalism (what it is, what it means , how it affects how we think?) during the upcoming LUU A-Soc Rationalist Week.

I thought I would see what people's views and ideas about rationalism were on here to get a better feel for how it actually affects people.

Any thoughts, questions or criticisms would be welcome.

Cheers.

Well just as a general theme, I would be tempted to avoid using the word rational too much lol.

What I mean by that is that we should reinforce this isn't a new way of thinking, it's just the sensible one we all do most of the time - reason and common sense.

While there is obviously a lot more to rationalism than that, and you should certainly go into that, I think it's worth reinforcing how kind of, obviously, for lack of a better term, it is.
